The O'RIGINAL Beaver Tail Jacket celebrates O'Neill's 60th anniversary pioneering wetsuit technology. This old fashioned cut has been updated with a series of modern enhancements, including: 100% Techno Butter neoprene with wind resistant coating. Techno butter is a moisture wicking material that dries quickly and is 17% lighter than traditional neoprene. Also features a full front zipper for easy in and out; sealed seams, and strategic paddle zones for maximum flexibility. The retro beaver tail configuration keeps the top securely in place.

I wasn't a huge fan of the style of this in person and on, but that's just me. I really liked the idea of the front zip for easier on & off, and the idea of the beaver tail to keep the shirt down. I never found board short connectors all that functional. When the tail was on it definitely helped keep the shirt down and I imagine it would have made it warmer or had less flushing (I returned it before getting it wet). The tail basically turned into a thong though which is a little uncomfortable. Add to that the snaps released a little too easily so it was tough to keep connected. Liked the idea but just didn't work for me.

I had been looking for a front zip jacket to go over a long john suit. Most do not have the retro beaver tail and I wanted the option of using it to keep the jacket from rolling up in bigger surf. This does the trick when you need it but most times I do not use the beaver tail. With the front zip it is easy to get on and the suit is very flexible. I like it and it looks cool while long boarding.
