Patagonia gloves are made of high-end Japanese superstretch neoprene for an amazing mold to your hand. The exterior is made of smoothskin to deflect wind, and the interior is poly fleece for moisture wicking. Seams are sealed to keep cold water out.
5mm gloves are generally appropriate for 50 degrees and up
Patagonia does wetsuits differently. They stand behind every suit with a lifetime warranty (does not cover wear and tear, of course.)

I am consistently disappointed with boots and gloves. I just don't know why they cannot be made so that they don't last or don't leak like crazy. Your feet and hands are the first thing to go in the cold. I would pay just about anything for one's designed to not leak. I've had these gloves out a few times in 50 degree water and they are fine so far. We'll see soon when it gets colder. I have been happy with most all Patagonia products I have to say.
