Socks are great. Socks go about 6 inches above your ankle. Don't think your feet won't get wet or feel the water, because they will. If you are looking for socks that are light weight and easy to take on and off these are the ones.

Its a good bootie. I like how easy it goes on and comes off. The only thing is, I wish they provided a little more warmth. Im surfing in San Francisco for the first time this winter and previously had spent all my time in San Diego, so needless to say, the cold water is definitely cold!
