This is not a bootie for walking over rough surfaces. The sloe is very thin and soft. I can't use it for where I bought it for. It is no different than a thin piece of neoprene between your foot and the rocks. Very painful and not any better than bare feet as far as I could tell.If you want a bootie for traction on your board its great but you can't really wear it any place you could not go barefoot!
