The Hyperfreak Spice is a limited edition 60th anniversary model built to celebrate O'Neill's 60 years of innovation. The entire suit is built with Technobutter neoprene which takes you beyond warm, beyond flexible and beyond your imagination! O'Neill's exclusive triple XDS air cell neoprene is the gooiest rubber on the market. At more than 200% stretch, this baby will really move with you in the water. 17% lighter and with 30% less water absorbtion, it's a no-brainer for the performance minded user. The chest, back, and core are lined with firewall fleece that wicks moisture from the skin while retaining lots of heat. Stitchless seams are impenetrable thanks to a double seam weld that is 60% thinner and lighter than traditional seam treatments. The silicone-based urethane seal is applied to the inside and outside of the suit (and the blue welding looks pretty cool too!) The short back zipper is waterproof and includes a pullover zipper barrier that eliminates flushing. Any water that manages to flush the zipper is forced out of the rear drain hole. The Hyperfreak also features durable kneepads and a key pocket at the lower leg.

Warm, flexible, and a good time

This suit turned out plenty flexible and after the first 10-20 minutes in the water, i expected my arms to start working harder fighting the constriction that comes with a wetsuit. Fatigue was non-existent and the suit was surprisingly stretchy. A definite bonus.
I was in 14 C (57F) water temps with a 13 C (55 F) air temp for about two and a half hours and never got chilly. The suit kept my core temp warm and did an outstanding job at repelling water. I felt super comfortable.
It's been a while since I've had to put a wetsuit on, but this one met my expectations as far as keeping me super warm and didn't tire me out. The technobutter technology seemed too thin and light to keep me warm when i first looked at it, but it turns out to be just right after the first few uses.
