Men's Hyperflex AMP3 Long Sleeve Springsuit – 2.5mm

Need a little extra warmth with your springsuit? The 2.5mm Hyperflex AMP3 L/S shorty springsuit is a top of the line offering for the uncompromising user. Unlike most springsuits, the AMP-III is made of a really high grade of superstretch neoprene that is softer and more flexible than other 100% stretch neoprene. The waterproof back zipper (with anti-flush barrier) works together with the sealed seams to keep water from flushing the suit, which keeps you warmer for longer. Completely redesigned this season, the AMP-3 is the warmest and most flexible suit ever produced by the guys up in Jersey. A great buy in our opinion!

4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 EXCELLENTLY MADE SUIT, GREAT BUY

Reviewer: R.I.P.

This is an excellently made suit. I also have top of the line full suits by both O'neill & Xcel, & the quality of workmanship & materials of this Hyperflex is right up there with both of them. I have relatively little difficulty getting in or out of this suit. This suit is very stretchy & flexible, with very little water entry or flushing. If anything, I find that for surfing here in Hawaii the suit keeps me a bit too warm, (especially if it's a hot, sunny day with long lulls between sets), but is great for extended water time while snorkeling or free diving, especially at night. Don't think that this is a cheaply made suit because of it's lower price, nothing could be further from the truth. I recommend that any potential wetsuit buyer should check out the Hyperflex line of suits when considering a wetsuit purchase. Cons: like most suits which utilize a lower density, ultra stretchy neoprene, this suit tends to absorb quite a bit of water during use, which makes the suit noticeably heavier. This is very apparent while surfing, but negligible while diving. You may not notice how heavy the suit has become due to water absorption until you remove it. This suit may be overkill if you're surfing in tropical regions, but would be ideal for cooler water/air temps in spring or fall in more temperate climes. I like it.

4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 2009 model was better

I am a slalom skier -- so my needs my vary from others. I used the 2009 model of this suit (black with green/gold lettering) for water temps 50 degrees and above. The old model was watertight (for the time it took for the towrope slack to be taken up) and was snug enough around the thighs to keep water from flushing in when getting up. Sadly, the new suit, although it looks way cooler, doesn't perform as well on either of those counts. It leaks water in almost immediately, and I get a massive water flush when getting up. For the money, I think that the JetPilot Flight long sleeve spring suit (2010 model) was a better buy.
