Great gloves. Use them for bodyboarding typically in 40-50 degree ocean temperatures and always warm. True to size, got XL's and not too long in the fingertips as many are for me. Also, use these handling a very thick bodyboard (BEAST) and I'm able to grip the board well. Ergonomic pre-curved hand and designed well.

If you mean in the Atlantic in the winter then NO they are too thin, you need at least a 5mm glove to a 7mm mitten, if you're talking about the winter in California, then sure they work great
