the title says it all. i purchased this second generation because i wanted to rotate these with my pair of the first generation, as to not have to get into cold wet boots for a second session. these boots are the best of breed....for any price.

As always XCEL makes sick products. The fit on this boot is true to size, I wear a size 10.5 sneaker and the 10's fit perfectly, toe to the end of the boot without cramping my feet or folding over. Wore them for 3 hours at a time over the weekend in 40* water and my feet were warm throughout. Highly recommmend these boots.

Surfing on Lake Michigan in the winter (35deg water, 20-40 degree air) requires the warmest of gear, and the drylock is the cold weather standard around here. These are expensive, but worth every penny when its freezing out. As always, be sure to get a good fit (i wear a US Mens 8.5 shoe size, and the xcell 9 fits like a glove).
